Jack Selby, a 17-year-old from Elkhart, has dedicated his efforts to constructing a Marian Garden at St. Mary-Holy Cross Catholic Church. Born significantly premature at just 25 weeks and weighing only 1 pound and 11 ounces, Jack was not expected to walk according to early medical predictions. Yet, with determination and a short span of intensive therapy, he surprised everyone by walking at just four months into his therapy sessions. This early defiance of expectations set the tone for his life, demonstrating his resilience and tenacity. As he grew, his scouting experience became a platform for him to give back, especially to the church that means so much to him and his family.
