Verona, February 2024 – The Tedeschi wine archive, making its debut, was unveiled with a momentous tasting event at the winery. This unique collection is now accessible to avid collectors, professionals in the gourmet industry, and enthusiasts of fine wines.
The newly introduced Tedeschi wine archive is housed in a hall that can be reached by descending a grand helical staircase from the main entrance. Serving as a “library” of labels spanning various years, it narrates the enological journey of Valpolicella and the enduring essence of Amarone wine.
Riccardo Tedeschi elaborates, “This archive represents the culmination of our family’s dedication and reverence for our land. It goes beyond mere celebration, offering a fresh perspective on our Amarone—a versatile wine that shines whether young or mature, complementing a wide range of culinary delights. Following our father Lorenzo’s philosophy, crafting an age-worthy Amarone begins with the production of exceptional wine.”
This hall is a veritable treasure trove for global collectors, a resource for industry professionals to deepen their expertise, and a platform for haute cuisine establishments to elevate their wine selections. Within this space, visitors can explore the diverse expressions of the “Tedeschi style” and the ongoing exploration of time’s impact on Valpolicella’s most renowned wine.
At the heart of the archive, rows of bottles are delicately positioned on elegant metal racks, flanking a substantial wooden table that commands the room. The bottles are meticulously organized by vintage and cru label. The bespoke “library,” crafted by a skilled artisan from Verona, is bathed in soft, horizontal lighting, creating an enchanting ambiance. A grand fireplace has been adapted to accommodate magnum bottles.
With around 6,800 bottles on display out of a total collection of approximately 27,000 vintage wines, the hall offers not only tastings but also sales of wines from the 2000s. Rarer older vintages are reserved for exclusive vertical tastings, such as the one held during the archive’s inauguration, which captivated the intimate gathering in attendance.
