Life Science + Healthcare ESG Leadership Award Granted to The Bulfinch Companies, Inc.

Boston, MA A subsidiary of The Bulfinch Companies, Inc. (Bulfinch) has been presented with the 2023 Life Sciences & Healthcare ESG Leadership Award by Harrison Street, a prominent investment management firm specializing in alternative real assets and managing around $56 billion in assets.

The ESG Leadership Awards by Harrison Street recognize partners who exemplify principles that support sustainable development. The 2023 award winners were acknowledged for their outstanding contributions across various sectors. Bulfinch was commended for its steadfast commitment to integrating sustainable practices across its portfolio, particularly in enhancing building technology systems and certifications. The company’s dedication to managing and reducing environmental impacts at Osborn Triangle earned them this recognition.

Osborn Triangle, situated in Cambridge’s Kendall Sq. neighborhood, serves as a global center for the life science and innovation communities. Positioned near prestigious institutions like MIT and Harvard, as well as major life science and Biotech companies worldwide, the campus comprises three buildings totaling 677,000 square feet, along with a 650-space parking garage at 610 Main St., 700 Main St., and 1 Portland St.

The properties at Osborn Triangle boast multiple sustainable certifications including LEED, Fitwel, Energy Star, and BOMA 360 Performance. The campus actively works towards reducing energy consumption and aims to transition to 100% green power. Bulfinch, in collaboration with Eversource, conducted an energy audit to identify incentive projects, with several already completed and more underway. As the property manager, Bulfinch fosters improved health and wellbeing through tenant activities and engagement programs. The recent brand refresh of the campus highlights the park, healthy lifestyle tenant initiatives, sustainability efforts, and community outreach programs.
