EXCLUSIVE: ( Purple Hearts), ( A Haunting in Venice), ( Fair Play), and ( The White Lotus) are set to star in , a new romantic comedy helmed by writer-director Adam Brooks ( Definitely, Maybe).
Adapted from Lori Nelson Spielman’s 2013 novel, The Life List follows Alex Rose (Carson) as she embarks on a journey to fulfill her childhood bucket list at her mother’s behest. This quest leads her to uncover family secrets, kindle romance, and embark on a path of self-discovery that promises both laughter and tears.
Produced by Liza Chasin ( The Lost City, Stillwater) under 3dot Productions, the film is part of Chasin’s exclusive agreement with the streaming platform, which also includes an upcoming romantic tale set in Morocco starring Laura Dern, Liam Hemsworth, and Diana Silvers. Hutch Parker, Brooks, Margaret Chernin, and Kerry Orent serve as executive producers on The Life List.
Carson gained prominence for her role opposite Nicholas Galitzine in the immensely popular Netflix and Alloy Entertainment romance Purple Hearts, which dominated the Global Top 10 Films (English) for six weeks following its release in September 2022, achieving Top 10 status in 93 countries. Her credits also include Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists and the Descendants franchise. Next, she will star alongside Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton in Jaume Collet-Serra’s Netflix action thriller .
Allen is recognized for his performances in Kenneth Branagh’s A Haunting in Venice, Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, as well as Rosaline and The Map of Tiny Perfect Things. His television work encompasses appearances in Hulu’s The Path and FX’s American Horror Story.
De Souza, known for his role in Netflix’s gripping thriller Fair Play by Chloe Domont, has showcased his talent in series such as The Great, Normal People, Medici, and The Borgias.
Britton, a familiar face from The White Lotus and Dear Edward, has left a mark in films like Bombshell and Promising Young Woman. She will soon be seen alongside Robert De Niro in an upcoming Netflix project.
Adam Brooks, acclaimed for directing the romantic comedy Definitely, Maybe starring Ryan Reynolds, and co-creating Bravo’s Imposters, has an extensive resume that includes work on Mozart in the Jungle, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, and Netflix’s Partner Track. His writing credits span titles like Nappily Ever After, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, and Wimbledon.
