Commemorating Belfry’s Noah Cross: A Tribute to His Legacy

Remembering Noah Cross: A True Inspiration

In Pike County, Kentucky, Noah Cross was a cherished individual with a multifaceted identity. Described as a fun-loving child, a devout Christian, and a versatile athlete participating in three sports at Belfry Middle School, Noah left a lasting impact on those around him.

Jonathan Bogar, Noah’s football coach at the middle school, fondly recalls Noah’s perfectionist nature. Despite his aversion to mistakes, Noah’s resilience and commitment to excellence shone through in all his endeavors.

As noted by Shane Blackburn, Noah’s assistant coach in football and basketball, Noah embodied toughness and competitiveness on the field. His roles as a defensive end, fullback, power forward, and third baseman showcased his diverse athletic abilities.

Beyond his athletic prowess, Noah’s character stood out to his peers. Gabe Varney, Noah’s best friend, remembers him as a jovial and approachable individual who treated everyone with kindness and respect.

Tragically, Noah’s life was cut short at the age of 14 due to meningitis, leaving the Belfry community in mourning. To honor his memory, the community embraces Noah’s favorite devotional, Psalm 46:10, known to him as “Power 46.”

The verse, emphasizing the importance of trusting in God amidst challenges, serves as a beacon of hope and a symbol of Noah’s enduring legacy. His positive influence and unwavering faith continue to inspire those who knew him.

In the face of profound loss, Noah’s impact remains profound. His spirit of love, gratitude, and integrity lives on through the actions and words of those who were touched by his presence.

As Philip Haywood, the head football coach at Belfry High School, reflects on Noah’s favorite verse, it becomes clear that Noah’s legacy transcends the boundaries of sports and community, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Noah’s unwavering commitment to doing what is right and his ability to uplift others serve as a poignant reminder of the power of kindness and positivity. In honoring his memory, the community pledges to carry forward his light and emulate his example of standing up for what is good and just.

Through the legacy he leaves behind, Noah Cross continues to be a source of inspiration and a guiding light for all who seek to embody his values of love, courage, and faith.
