Dylan and Cole Sprouse’s ‘Ridiculous’ Encounter with Matt Damon on ‘The Suite Life’ Set

On a recent episode of SiriusXM, Cole reminisced about how the twin brothers’ childhood fixation on the World of Warcraft video game caused them to ignore the actor from “Oppenheimer,” aged 53, when he paid them a visit on set.

The 31-year-old former cast member shared that he and Dylan were engrossed in the video game during set school when they were informed by a production assistant that Matt Damon and his children were avid fans of their show and would be stopping by to greet them.

Recalling the moment, Cole mentioned how he and Dylan exchanged exasperated looks, realizing they had to temporarily step away from their World of Warcraft session. He chuckled as he mentioned that they were approximately 15 years old at that time.

True to the announcement, when Matt arrived and knocked on the door, Cole described how every crew member gathered in the hallway, captivated by the presence of Matt Damon, while he and his twin remained fixated on their screens, failing to acknowledge the Hollywood star.

Reflecting on their childish behavior, Cole expressed, “This was how absurd we were as kids.” He recounted the brief interaction with Matt, where they half-heartedly greeted him before swiftly returning to their game.

“We were simply kids immersed in our video games, and if I ever cross paths with Matt Damon again, I’ll definitely offer my apologies, and all will be well,” the actor added.

In another anecdote, Cole shared a mischievous incident from their school days on set, admitting to being notorious troublemakers within the Student Teacher Union. He recounted how their antics instilled fear in the adults managing the set school after a string of pranks.

Following their admiration for a teacher named Laura Torrance from “Big Daddy,” Cole and Dylan advocated for her presence on the set of their Disney Channel show.

Despite initial resistance, the twins persisted in their request, even creating a “hit list of teachers” and sketching caricatures of those who visited, along with a tally of their duration.

“We were dreadful. Truly mischievous,” Cole confessed, noting that the head of the Student Teacher Union’s attempt to discipline them lasted only a day before Laura was assigned to oversee them.
