Allen County Community Unites to Honor Teenager’s Life

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) – A solemn gathering took place at Allen County-Scottsville High School on Wednesday evening, where friends and family came together for a vigil honoring the memory of senior Kaedon Price, a student whose life was tragically cut short.

Describing Price as a compassionate individual, his older sister Kiara Price reflected, “He was a friend to everyone, always willing to help, and truly a good-hearted person.”

Known for his jovial personality, Price had a deep affection for his school and community. Kiara fondly recalled, “He was not only kind but also had a great sense of humor. His impact on everyone’s lives was evident by the overwhelming turnout at the vigil.”

A beloved member of the Allen County-Scottsville High School football team, Price earned the nickname “Lil’ Jesus” for his distinctive long hair and unwavering faith.

Brian Gilbreth, a representative from New Vision Community Church, reminisced about Price, saying, “He was vibrant and full of life, like any other 18-year-old. His presence will be deeply missed, but tonight’s gathering serves as a tribute to his memory.”

Finding solace in their faith, Price’s family, with the assistance of New Vision Community Church, organized the vigil to provide a space for healing and remembrance.

Gilbreth emphasized the importance of unity in times of grief, stating, “This community, these kids, and this family are in pain. It is crucial for us, as a church, a family, and a community, to come together, offering support and hope for those who are hurting.”

Despite the profound loss felt by Price’s family, they take comfort in knowing that his legacy will endure through organ donation, a decision aligned with his compassionate nature.

Kiara expressed, “In honoring his wishes, we have chosen to donate his organs to help those in need, believing that he would have wanted it this way.”

To assist with funeral expenses, the family has set up a GoFundMe page for donations.

In response to Price’s passing, Allen County Schools Superintendent Travis Hamby issued a statement, conveying, “Our hearts go out to the family during this challenging period. We extend our deepest sympathies and stand prepared to provide any necessary support as they navigate this loss.”

He further added, “The loss of a student profoundly impacts our school community. Our primary focus is on the well-being and assistance of all members. Mental health counselors are available to offer support to our students.”
