A&E is broadening its “Secrets Of” collection with two fresh docuseries, including Houses of Horror: Secrets of College Greek Life.
Both shows delve into the dominance and influence that these groups exert over their members by providing a detailed exploration of their clandestine realms through individuals in close proximity to them.
The eight-episode Secrets of The Hells Angels delves deeply into the realm of the most secretive and infamous biker club. It offers insights from former chapter presidents, undercover agents who risked their lives to penetrate the group, and eyewitnesses to the criminal activities, all speaking out for the first time, as per A&E. The premiere is scheduled for Sunday, April 14 at 10 PM ET/PT on A&E.
Produced by Arrow Media for A&E Network, Secrets of The Hells Angels is spearheaded by Stuart Pender as the executive producer for Arrow Media.
On the other hand, Houses of Horror: Secrets of College Greek Life sheds light on the domain of campus Greek life, uncovering instances of extreme hazing, sexual assault, drug abuse, and systemic racism that persist within these groups founded on exclusivity, secrecy, and power. The premiere is set for Monday, May 27 at 10 PM ET/PT.
The production of Houses of Horror: Secrets of College Greek Life is handled by The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC), a division of Sony Pictures Television, for A&E Network. For more detailed insights into the series, A&E provides the following descriptions:
Secrets of the Hells Angels
During Sonny Barger’s leadership, the Hells Angels “brotherhood” expanded nationwide. Despite facing allegations of criminal behavior, the biker club garnered a reputation as a formidable force not to be trifled with. “Secrets of the Hells Angels” delves into the group’s outlaw history to unveil its darkest secrets. Through interviews with five former chapter presidents—Charles “PeeWee” Goldsmith, Thomas Eriksen, Pat Matter, Matt Zanoskar, and George Christie—alongside exclusive conversations with law enforcement officers, undercover agents, victims, and more, the series exposes the Hells Angels as a more violent, cunning, and well-organized entity than previously believed.
Each hour-long episode delves into extraordinary tales, such as the evolution of the Cleveland Hells Angels division from a motorcycle club to a criminal organization, a plot to assassinate Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, and accounts of drug trafficking, violent assaults, and biker conflicts. The series also features Sonny’s ex-wife, Noel Barger, breaking her silence on Sonny’s motivations and unveiling the truth that shattered their relationship. Through never-before-heard interviews, rare archival footage, and exclusive content, the show reveals the club’s most closely guarded secrets and the personal toll of being a part of the Angels.
Houses of Horror: Secrets of College Greek Life
This series uncovers the dark side of Greek Row and its impact on young men and women involved in these organizations. Each episode presents firsthand testimonies illustrating how the authority, influence, and secrecy within fraternities and sororities can foster a cult-like environment where illicit activities—from substance abuse to sexual assault—thrive. Through exclusive interviews with former members, families, law enforcement, and experts, the show details the far-reaching repercussions of these seemingly inclusive and communal groups, which can spiral into perilous and even fatal outcomes.
Across six episodes, the series recounts various firsthand experiences shedding light on the grim facets of fraternity and sorority life at universities nationwide. From a harrowing incident at the University of Missouri where a pledge was hazed into a near-fatal alcohol consumption, to a University of Minnesota junior who confronted the Greek system after a brutal assault by a fraternity member, and a tragic series of overdose deaths at San Diego State University, to the University of Alabama’s infamous Machine entrenched in racist traditions of the Old South, the show offers a comprehensive examination of how the seemingly jovial and carefree facade of Greek life can mask a much darker reality.
