Unveiling a Typical Day on a Talk Show

This month, GEORGE SULLIVAN from the band TALK SHOW shares a glimpse into his daily routine.

.30 → I wake up to the soothing tones of the new alarm on my upgraded phone. Apple has truly elevated their alarm game with the soft piano melody of Unfold, earning my approval even before the sun rises.

.32 → Just in time to catch Chris Hawkins on Radio 6 premiering our latest single, ‘Red/White’, the third release from our upcoming album. Hearing our music on the radio always brings a fresh perspective. Today’s segment on ‘names in songs’ is particularly engaging.

.00 → After a refreshing shower, I indulge in a cup of tea and a peanut butter and banana porridge while tuning in to Jim Legxacy. A quick check of emails and social media sets the tone for the day.

.07 → Rushing to catch my train, I find solace in watching Netflix on my phone. Currently immersed in ‘The Fall of The House Of Usher’, I resort to watching with subtitles to alleviate the suspense. This unconventional viewing method ensures a less frightening commute.

.00 → Arriving at the school where I teach music, I am grateful for the opportunity to work with young talents in various institutions across Newham. Investing in community music and youth programs is crucial for nurturing the next generation’s potential.

.00 → After an enriching session with 30 violins and 60 young violinists, a coffee break in the staff room reaffirms my gratitude for working with aspiring musicians.

.30 → En route to Central on the underground, I immerse myself in the latest music releases. Tracks from Walt Disco, Bruiser Wolf, and Folly Group stand out, offering a refreshing sonic experience.

.00 → Visiting Joe Goddard and Al Doyle’s studio, I assist in setting up equipment and delve into the art of creating captivating music. Learning from seasoned professionals is always a rewarding experience.

00 → Opting for mussels from the pub menu turns out to be a fried surprise. Reflecting on this culinary choice, I amend my New Year’s resolutions with a newfound trust in intuition.

15 → As the mussels arrive, I contemplate the halloumi alternative I overlooked. Embracing the lesson of trusting my instincts, I savor the meal with a newfound perspective.

00 → Returning to the studio, I am captivated by the innovative tracks being produced. The creative energy in the studio hints at exciting projects in the pipeline, promising a musically enriching year ahead.

00 → Engaging in a video call with Talk Show members, we discuss updates and strategies for the upcoming week. Planning for the UK tour in March involves deliberations on setlists and meal preparations for the road, ensuring a harmonious blend of music and sustenance.

30 → Upon reaching home, I prepare and enjoy a quick spaghetti dinner while immersing myself in the sounds of Drexyia.

30 → Editing demo tracks and exploring new musical references pave the way for creative inspiration in the upcoming year. Addressing pending emails and messages rounds off the productive evening.

30 → Embracing a tranquil evening ritual, I indulge in herbal tea, savoring the flavors of Ginger Chamomile and Thyme from MUJI. Disconnecting from technology, I unwind on the sofa, immersing myself in the captivating narrative of ‘The Bear’.

30 → Engaging in independent reading, I delve into ‘Diary Of A Young Naturalist’ by Dara McAnulty, a poignant account of the author’s encounters with nature at a tender age.

30 → As the day winds down, I bid farewell and express gratitude for accompanying me through the day’s journey.
