Recall Issued for Nearly 43,000 Ford SUVs Over Fire Hazard
Ford has initiated a recall affecting close to 43,000 small SUVs due to a fire risk associated with gasoline leakage from the fuel injectors onto hot engine surfaces. The recall pertains to certain Bronco Sport SUVs from the 2022 and 2023 model years, along with 2022 Escape SUVs, all equipped with 1.5-liter engines.
According to documents filed with U.S. safety regulators, the recall addresses potential cracks in the fuel injectors, which could lead to the accumulation of gasoline or vapor near ignition sources, posing a fire hazard.
As part of the remedy, dealers will install a tube to redirect gasoline away from hot surfaces to the ground beneath the vehicle. Additionally, engine control software updates will be implemented to detect pressure drops in the fuel injection system. In the event of such a drop, the software will deactivate the high-pressure fuel pump, reduce engine power, and lower temperatures in the engine compartment.
Life Sentence for Leader of Seven Mile Bloods Gang
Billy Arnold, a prominent figure in Detroit’s Seven Mile Bloods gang, has been sentenced to life imprisonment following his conviction on 22 charges, including murder, racketeering, RICO conspiracy, and firearms offenses in federal court.
The sentencing comes after a six-week trial last December, where evidence presented detailed the gang’s operations on the city’s east side, specifically in the area between Seven and Eight Mile Roads. Referred to as the ‘Red Zone’ or ‘4-8-2-0-Die,’ the neighborhood was a focal point of the gang’s activities.
Arnold’s trial revealed his involvement in a gang war with rival factions from Detroit’s east side, with specific mention of a July 2014 murder. U.S. Attorney Ison emphasized that severe sentences like Arnold’s are reserved for individuals involved in grave crimes that inflict harm and instill fear in communities.
