Commemorating the Legacy of Sgt. Nevada Krinkee: A Gathering of Thousands

SHERIDAN, Wyoming – The community of Sheridan came together today to honor the memory of the late police sergeant, Nevada Krinkee. The day commenced in front of the Sheridan Police Department, where Krinkee’s vehicle, adorned with messages of support and affection, remains parked.

Law enforcement officers from across Wyoming, as well as neighboring states, assembled before the procession along Main St. commenced. Spectators lining the streets waved American and Army flags, expressing gratitude for Sgt. Krinkee’s sacrifice. Among the attendees was Gerald Edleman, a resident of Casper, who distributed flags to strangers along the procession route, reflecting on his pride and unwavering support for those who serve and protect.

The procession culminated at the Golden Dome on the Sheridan College Campus, where a crowd eagerly awaited the doors to open at 11:30 am. The atmosphere inside was emotional, with heartfelt tributes from Krinkee’s colleagues highlighting his dedication and impact. Chief of Police, Travis Koltiska, emphasized the need to honor Nevada’s legacy while finding the strength to move forward, drawing inspiration from his courage and selflessness.

During a poignant eulogy, Sheridan Lieutenant, Dan Keller, spoke of Krinkee’s steadfast faith and shared a heartfelt message penned by his wife, Karla. In her words, Karla expressed profound admiration and love for her late husband, lamenting the future they lost together. She cherished Nevada’s role as a devoted father to their daughter, recounting the joy and love he radiated from the moment he learned of her existence.

Karla’s reflections conveyed her unwavering faith in a future reunion with Nevada, confident in his safety and eternal peace in God’s embrace. The ceremony concluded with Sgt. Nevada Krinkee’s interment at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, where his family bid a private farewell to a beloved individual who embodied the roles of father, husband, son, brother, and friend.
